Find Zipcars through your iPhone with WHERE
Where.com, location based software for your iPhone or web-enabled cell phone, includes in its software maps of various places, including Zipcars in your area. After you input your address, it will show you where you are, where the nearest Zipcars are, and whether they are available or not. Once you find one available, they have the number one touch away. More information, and the free application for your iPhone, is available at where.com. Since the iPhone launch, over 125,000 people have downloaded this widget. Hopefully more companies (I’m looking at you, PhillyCarShare!) will add this service for its members.
I think future versions of this, or other software, should allow you to book the car through your mobile web connection. Find a nearby available car, adjust your hours, and press ‘book it’.
